THE USEFUL VERSION

A vehicle-history search is most useful when it helps you ask better questions. Start by proving the car’s identity, then check safety recalls and title events, and finally compare the data with the physical vehicle in front of you.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Clear answers, no filler.

Is a free VIN check enough?

It is enough to verify basic identity and check recalls. Title, odometer and damage history normally require a separate NMVTIS-approved report.

Can a clean report hide an accident?

Yes. Private repairs and incidents that were never reported may not appear, which is why inspection remains essential.

What VIN differences are acceptable?

The visible VIN, certification label and title should agree exactly. Any difference needs professional investigation before purchase.
