Our job is to make the next automotive decision clearer. Every article should explain what is known, what remains uncertain and what the reader can safely do next.
What we publish
Automotive Compass publishes practical guidance about vehicle buying, history, safety, diagnostics, maintenance, tires, EV ownership, tools, car care and responsible modification. We prioritize questions that lead to a real decision rather than producing pages only because a keyword exists.

How we research
Primary sources come first. Depending on the subject, these may include NHTSA, EPA, U.S. Department of Energy, FTC, manufacturer manuals, recall documents, service information and recognized technical standards. Secondary sources can provide context but do not replace authoritative documentation for a safety-critical claim.
Facts, judgment and manufacturer claims
A verified specification is presented differently from an editorial recommendation. Manufacturer performance claims remain attributed claims unless independently supported. When evidence is incomplete, we state the uncertainty instead of turning an assumption into a conclusion.
Safety and scope
Automotive information can involve moving vehicles, electricity, chemicals, lifting equipment and safety systems. Articles identify stop-driving signals and recommend qualified help when a remote guide cannot establish a safe procedure. Model-specific manuals and service information take priority over general guidance.
Review and publication
Before publication, a guide is checked for a clear search intent, internal consistency, useful sourcing, understandable language, working links and an actionable conclusion. High-risk claims receive additional attention, and published dates are not used to make old information appear new.
Corrections and updates
Material errors are corrected promptly after verification. A correction should change the inaccurate statement, preserve the useful context and update the modification date. Minor spelling or formatting changes may be fixed without a separate notice.

Commercial independence

Reader responsibility
Our content is educational and cannot inspect a specific vehicle remotely. Readers should verify specifications for the exact VIN, follow the owner’s manual and local law, and use a qualified professional whenever condition, procedure or safety remains uncertain.
