How commissions work, what they do not influence and how commercial relationships are shown to readers.

Some outbound links may earn Automotive Compass a commission when a reader completes a purchase. This normally does not change the reader’s price, but the relationship must still be visible.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link contains tracking that allows a retailer or service to attribute a qualifying purchase. The merchant—not the reader—may then pay a commission to Automotive Compass.
Where disclosure appears
A clear disclosure is placed near commercial recommendations or before the first affiliate link. A site-wide policy is useful context, but it does not replace a visible article-level disclosure.
What commission cannot buy
Commission does not purchase inclusion, a favorable verdict or removal of limitations. We may recommend a non-affiliate option, advise against buying or conclude that the reader needs no product.
Pricing and availability
Retail prices, stock and terms can change after publication. Readers should confirm the final merchant, model, compatibility, warranty, subscription requirement and checkout price before purchasing.
Sponsored content and samples
Paid placement, if accepted, will be labeled as sponsored and kept distinct from independent editorial recommendations. Free or loaned products used for testing will be disclosed when material to the evaluation.
Our responsibility to the reader
Commercial usefulness follows editorial usefulness. A guide should explain the job, evidence, trade-offs and alternatives before presenting a purchase path.
